Caitlin Rublee, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado. She serves as Director of Graduate Medical Education with the Climate and Health Program through the School of Medicine and Assistant Fellowship Director for the Climate and Health Science Policy Fellowship. So what you think we’ll be talking about today. That’s right. Climate change and its impact on the practice of medicine.

We talk about what she is hoarding in her bunker with the coming societal collapse from climate change. Actually, she is a lot more hopeful than me, which is clearly reflected in our discussion, so we talk about what gives her hope. That being said, we need to be prepared, so we talk about what she should expect, like more mosquito borne illnesses, climate refugees, more issues with supply chains causing us to practice with scarcity. We also talk about why climate change is a social justice issue and what we can do if this conversation terrifies or inspires you. Probably a bit of both.

She is the 2022-2024 American Board of Emergency Medicine National Academy of Medicine Fellow. Dr. Rublee received a MD/MPH dual degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She completed residency in Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University followed by a one-year Climate and Health Science Policy Fellowship at the University of Colorado.
